Volleyball Recap: Grafton Falls Short Against Ranked Thompson

Grafton faced Thompson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Spoilers fell just short of the Tommies by a score of 3-2. The Spoilers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tommies earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Elle Schumacher paced Grafton's offense, picking up 22 kills. Schumacher got some help from Julia Heidt and her 37 assists. Heidt also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Sheyanne Blackcloud, each putting up two.

Grafton's loss dropped their record down to 22-13-2. As for Thompson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-7-1.

Grafton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Thompson, after both having extra time off, they and Valley City will shake off the rust and duke it out on Thursday.
