Baseball Game Preview: Notre Dame Prep Lancers vs. Immaculate Mustangs

The Notre Dame Prep Lancers will venture away from home to square off against the Immaculate Mustangs at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Immaculate took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Notre Dame Prep, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Notre Dame Prep turned things around against New Canaan on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 11-1 victory.

Meanwhile, Immaculate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of Bunnell. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 5-1 in the first period.

Connor Kraft made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He also brought in two RBI, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Adam Chila, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Notre Dame Prep pushed their record up to 7-10 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Immaculate, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Notre Dame Prep skirted past Immaculate 6-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
