Softball Game Preview: Catawba Ridge Copperheads vs. Clover Eagles

The Catawba Ridge Copperheads will venture away from home to take on the Clover Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Catawba Ridge will be strutting in after a victory while Clover will be coming in after a loss.

Catawba Ridge took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Rock Hill 11-1. The Copperheads haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Clover faced Nation Ford in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since April 17, 2025.

Clover's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-4. As for Catawba Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.

Catawba Ridge came up short against Clover in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, falling 10-5. Can the Copperheads avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
