Basketball Recap: The Pilgrim Academy Comes Up Short at Home Against Calvary Christian Academy

The Pilgrim Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost to the Calvary Christian Academy Cougars at home by a 60-44 margin on Tuesday. If the Pioneers were looking for revenge after losing 55-46 to the Cougars when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The Pilgrim Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Owen Seavey, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Danny Bongiorno, who posted eight points.

Looking ahead, The Pilgrim Academy is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Veritas Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Pioneers their first taste of in-conference action this season. Calvary Christian Academy has already played their next contest (against Morrisville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
