Basketball Recap: East Wake Falls Despite Big Games from Brooklyn Mckinney and Shanel Harrison + How To Watch

East Wake lost against Holly Springs back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Warriors fell 50-45 to the Golden Hawks. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Golden Hawks 14-7 in the first quarter.

Shanel Harrison and Brooklyn McKinney certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Harrison went 7-for-14 on her way to 21 points, while McKinney posted 12 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Holly Springs found their leader in sophomore Adaora Mogbo, who shot 40% from the field to rack up 18 points. Another player making a difference was Dazaria Smith, who had six points and three steals.

East Wake's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

East Wake has already played their next game, a 52-9 victory against Enloe on the 21st. As for Holly Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-38 win against Green Hope on the 21st.
