Baseball Recap: Fairfield Central Takes a Loss

Fairfield Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 3-0 to the Newberry Bulldogs. If the Griffins were looking for revenge after losing 7-4 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Fairfield Central's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Newberry, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfield Central will head out to challenge Batesburg-Leesville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newberry, they will venture away from home to take on Orangeburg-Wilkinson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bruins will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
