Basketball Preview: West St. John Rams vs. East Jefferson Warriors
The West St. John Rams will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the East Jefferson Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. West St. John hasn't scored more than 22 points for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.
West St. John is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Bonnabel on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. West St. John was beaten by Bonnabel 57-22.
Meanwhile, East Jefferson posted their biggest victory since January 13th on Saturday. They put the hurt on Jefferson RISE Charter with a sharp 41-16 win.
East Jefferson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leyah Dejoie, who went 5 for 12 en route to 12 points plus six rebounds and five assists. What's more, Dejoie also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in January. Graci Malic was another key player, going 5 for 10 en route to 12 points.
East Jefferson now has a winning record of 2-1. As for West St. John, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
