Why it's big: A win Saturday would pull John Curtis Christian into a tie with Rummel for first place in its first-ever season in the New Orleans Catholic League.

These teams have met only one other time, a 26-0 win for Rummel in 1964.

Rummel (7-1) has won four in a row after a 10-3 loss against Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey on Sept. 26. John Curtis Christian (6-1) has three consecutive wins since an overtime loss to Brother Martin (New Orleans) on the same day.

Names to watch: Senior defensive back Kristian Fulton had a huge night in Rummel's last game, a 59-27 blowout of Brother Martin. The four-star prospect had two interceptions — including one he returned for a touchdown — and he also blocked a PAT.

Nathaniel Evans, rated three stars by 247Sports, leads John Curtis Christian in tackles and is second in tackles for loss. Senior running back Devon Benn leads the Patriots offense with a team-high 1,122 all-purpose yards and 13 touchdowns.
