Basketball Game Preview: Wings Academy Wings vs. Stevenson Ambassadors

The Wings Academy Wings will take on the Stevenson Ambassadors at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wings Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60 points per game this season.

Wings Academy is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Bay Shore just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 67-54 to the Marauders.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Rushawn Greene, who posted 12 points in addition to seven assists and six boards. Another player making a difference was Kamrin Kendall, who put up nine points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Stevenson was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Eagle Academy an easy 79-53 win. While losing is never fun, the Ambassadors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while Eagle Academy are ranked 13th).

Stevenson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Wings Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Wings Academy came up short against Stevenson in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 77-66. Can Wings Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
