Basketball Recap: Union City Comes Up Short

Union City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 100-45 loss at the hands of the Memphis Central Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Golden Tornadoes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Warriors are ranked 46th).

Union City's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Memphis Central, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Union City will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Henry County at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Memphis Central also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Memphis East at 7:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
