Baseball Recap: Jimtown Extends Winning Streak to Three

Jimtown took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Northridge, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Jimmies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Raiders on Saturday. For the Jimmies, this counts as revenge for the 12-2 victory the Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2023.

Connor Christman was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for Jimtown: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise.

The win (which was Jimtown's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Northridge, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-2.

Coming up, Jimtown will be playing in front of their home fans against Kouts at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs & Fillies' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Jimmies' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Northridge, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 5-2 win against Goshen on the 21st.
