Softball Recap: Lompoc Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Lompoc, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They came out on top against the Arroyo Grande Eagles by a score of 6-3 on Friday. For the Braves, this counts as revenge for the 18-5 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Alex Brooks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Rianna Stouppe was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Lompoc's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Arroyo Grande, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lompoc is set to challenge their familiar foe St. Joseph at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Lompoc 2.6, St. Joseph 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Arroyo Grande will face off against rival Cabrillo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
