Aledo is on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Brewer is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Aledo will welcome Brewer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Brewer's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Aledo hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. Aledo never let Azle get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Tuesday.
TAYLOR MCKEAN made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in February. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, KYLEIGH PAWLAK and MARINA TAVERAS did most of the damage at the plate: PAWLAK went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while TAVERAS scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Those five RBI gave PAWLAK a new career-high. Another player making a difference was DELANEY ROSSER, who scored three runs while going 1-for-2.
Aledo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Azle only posted an OBP of .000.
Meanwhile, Brewer made easy work of Azle on Friday and carried off a 14-6 win.
Like Aledo, Brewer also got a great game from a two-way player: Cozette Tyson. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Tyson was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Brewer let Haylie Jimenez and Kamren Pride run wild. Jimenez went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Pride went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Pride is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Keira Miller was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Aledo is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. Brewer's win bumped their record up to 12-10.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Aledo hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .340. However, it's not like Brewer struggles in that department as they've averaged .349. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Aledo took their victory against Brewer in their previous meeting on March 5th by a conclusive 7-0. Does Aledo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Brewer turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
