Volleyball Game Preview: Plainfield East Bengals vs. Joliet West Tigers

The Plainfield East Bengals will face off against the Joliet West Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Plainfield East came up short against Lincoln-Way Central and fell 2-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Joliet West posted their closest win since April 1st on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Providence Catholic 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Celtics: they've now won five in a row.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Joliet West got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 23-25, 25-19.

Plainfield East better focus on containing Akbal Ramos and Michael Meloy as the pair were huge in Joliet West's win. Ramos had 14 digs and one assist, while Meloy had 11 digs and ten kills. Those 11 digs gave Meloy a new career-high.

Joliet West's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Plainfield East, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
