Basketball Recap: Horseshoe Bend Mustangs vs. Council Lumberjacks
Even though the Horseshoe Bend Mustangs have not done well against the Council Lumberjacks recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Horseshoe Bend came out on top against the Lumberjacks by a score of 51-42. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Horseshoe Bend.
Horseshoe Bend's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Porter Larson led the charge by scoring 16 points along with three steals. Layth Bromgard was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Horseshoe Bend now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Council, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Horseshoe Bend will head out on the road to square off against the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Council does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
