Softball Game Preview: Plainfield South Cougars vs. Bolingbrook Raiders

The Plainfield South Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Bolingbrook Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Plainfield South is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest loss since April 19th on Wednesday. They fell just short of Minooka by a score of 4-2.

Meanwhile, Bolingbrook lost 16-7 to Joliet West on Wednesday. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Anaiyah Gregory and Karina Choi stepped up to the plate in a big way. Gregory went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Choi went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Mercy Hanny was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.

Bolingbrook's defeat dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Plainfield South, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season.

Plainfield South suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Bolingbrook when the teams last played back in April of 2021. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
