Volleyball Recap: Johnsburg's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Johnsburg entered their tilt with Round Lake on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 2-0. The Skyhawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Johnsburg was: they took both sets by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-9.

Their offense was headlined by Emerson Payne-Brennan and Carlie Majercik, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Adelaide Bruns and her 12 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Johnsburg's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Round Lake, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Johnsburg has already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Marengo on the 20th. As for Round Lake, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Waukegan on the 20th.
