Softball Recap: Monticello Comes Up Short

Monticello lost against Piute on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Buckaroo came up short against the Thunderbirds, falling 27-12. The Buckaroo just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Tessa Slade was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Amelia Henderson also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Monticello's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Piute, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Monticello will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Pinnacle at 3:30 p.m. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 21 runs per game on average), something the Buckaroo will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Piute, they are taking a road trip to challenge Wayne at 3:30 p.m. on the 24th.
