Volleyball Recap: Shadow Ridge Falls Short Against Ranked Foothill

Shadow Ridge faced Foothill in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mustangs fell 2-0 to the Falcons. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Shadow Ridge's offense was headlined by Lily Prince and Eline Lemau, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Lea Scott and her nine assists.

Foothill was led to victory by Addison Chase and Kiara Henderson. Chase had 15 assists and eight digs, while Henderson had six digs and six aces. That's the most assists Chase has posted over her last seven contests.

The loss snapped Shadow Ridge's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 19-12 record. As for Foothill, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-10.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Shadow Ridge and Palo Verde will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Foothill, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Liberty on the 20th.
