Basketball Recap: Three Rivers Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kloe Duran and Morgan Niembro

Three Rivers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 34-28 heartbreaker at the hands of the Yorktown Wildcats. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 42-20 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Three Rivers had strong showings from Morgan Niembro, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 11 points, and Kloe Duran, who posted six points.

Three Rivers' defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Yorktown, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-9.

Three Rivers wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 43-13 loss against Port Aransas on the 20th. Yorktown has also already played their next game, a 50-49 defeat against Kenedy on the 20th.
