Basketball Recap: Houlka Beats Thrasher for Their Fourth Straight Win

Houlka waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They enjoyed a cozy 59-43 win over the Thrasher Rebels.

Houlka was led to victory by Jerome Staton and Elijah Foster. Staton went 9 of 17 en route to 21 points, while Foster almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 boards. Foster is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dee Simon, who posted two points in addition to ten assists and three steals.

Houlka pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Thrasher, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Houlka will take on Calhoun City in a tournament on January 4, 2025. As for Thrasher, they will head out to face off against Hickory Flat at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
