Basketball Recap: Halstead Comes Up Short

Halstead lost against Haven back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Halstead Dragons fell 68-55 to the Haven Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Wildcats are ranked 29th).

Halstead has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Haven, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Halstead will venture away from home to face off against Smoky Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Haven, they are taking a road trip to square off against Pratt at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
