Baseball Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pocomoke Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in March.

Washington saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Seth Turner, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Washington's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Pocomoke, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington will venture away from home to face off against North Dorchester at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pocomoke, they will head out to challenge Colonel Richardson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Colonels have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
