Waco Christian won the last time they faced Mercy Prep Academy, and Zeriya Potts did her part to make sure it happened again. The Waco Christian Warriors walked away with a 51-38 win over the Mercy Prep Academy Royals on Thursday thanks in part to Potts, who dropped a triple-double with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 steals. She also posted five blocks, which is notable because Waco Christian is 6-2 when she posts at least three blocks, but 1-3 otherwise.

Dani Hanan was another key player, going 8 of 14 on her way to 17 points and seven steals. She has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Mercy Prep Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kyra Stuart, who posted 14 points in addition to five boards and five steals, and Myra Nelsen, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Nelsen a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Naomi Youngers, who had six points and five boards.

Waco Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points over those games. As for Mercy Prep Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Waco Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mercy Prep Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 60-11 loss against Grayson Christian on the 7th.
