Baseball Recap: Three Straight Home Victories for Woodcreek

Woodcreek won the last time they faced Vista del Lago and things went their way on Friday too. Woodcreek came out on top against Vista del Lago by a score of 10-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Timberwolves.

Aaron Palmer made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other pitching news, Tyler Thompson looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

Back at the plate, Koen Guernsey was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Christian Murphy, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Woodcreek pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Vista del Lago, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodcreek will venture away from home to square off against Inderkum at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Inderkum's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Woodcreek's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Vista del Lago, they are taking a road trip to take on Lincoln at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
