Nokomis put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Father McGivney Catholic Griffins. The Redskins have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Griffins, too.

Mackenzie Mehochko paced Nokomis' offense, picking up 11 kills. Mehochko got some help from Kinley Stolte and her 20 assists. Mehochko was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Nokomis' victory bumped their record up to 16-0. As for Father McGivney Catholic, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-2-2.

Nokomis and Father McGivney Catholic should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Redskins (ranked 76th) will meet South County (ranked 302nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Father McGivney Catholic will square off against Marquette Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (101 vs. 377).
