Recap: Leo Lions vs. Bellmont Braves

After soaring to 60 points the game before, the Leo Lions were a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They suffered a tough 45-20 loss at the hands of Bellmont. Leo has struggled against Bellmont recently, as their matchup on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Leo had strong showings from Leah Shappell, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and two blocks, and Isabelle Collins, who scored seven points along with two steals. Shappell hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games.

Leo's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Bellmont, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Leo will face off against Angola at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Angola is ranked 126th, while Leo is ranked 143rd). Bellmont's road trip will continue as they head out to face Oak Hill at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Hopefully Oak Hill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Tuesday.
