Baseball Recap: Deep Creek Hornets vs. Lakeland Cavaliers
Deep Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 10-4 to the Lakeland Cavaliers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cavaliers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-2 on April 10th.
Deep Creek got a good showing from Owen Hoertt, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave Hoertt a new career-low.
At the plate, Tristin Mosley was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Jagger Locking was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Deep Creek's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Lakeland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.
