Recap: Greene County Tech Golden Eagles vs. Pocahontas Redskins
The Greene County Tech Golden Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 58-32 margin over Pocahontas. The win was familiar territory for Greene County Tech who now have three in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greene County Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Carter, who scored eight points along with six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for her. Weslyn Burnside was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Greene County Tech is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5-1 record this season. As for Pocahontas, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greene County Tech won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Westside on December 30, 2023. As for Pocahontas, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Blytheville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blytheville is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
