Soccer Recap: East Lake Falls Short of Lakewood Ranch in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact East Lake can now relate to. They fell just short of the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

East Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 17-3. As for Lakewood Ranch, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

East Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lakewood Ranch, they will venture away from home to take on St. Thomas Aquinas at 7:00 p.m. on February 20th. St. Thomas Aquinas' defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Lakewood Ranch's offense will have their work cut out for them.
