Basketball Recap: Sickles Skates Past Carrollwood Day with Ease

Sickles had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 33-point drubbing they dealt Carrollwood Day on Saturday. The Gryphons blew past the Patriots 50-17. The Gryphons not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since February 6th (when they won 72-22).

Sickles was led to victory by Sadie Jones and Ashlynn Dill. Jones dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards, while Dill went 8-for-15 en route to 18 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance also gave Jones a new career-high in assists (seven). Another player making a difference was Meeyah Harrison, who posted six points.

Sickles smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. They are 2-1 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Sickles' record is now 2-5. As for Carrollwood Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sickles will challenge Leto at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carrollwood Day, they will take on Universal Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
