Basketball Game Preview: Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions vs. Emerson Waldorf Gnomes

Having just played yesterday, the Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Emerson Waldorf Gnomes at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Excelsior Classical Academy has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 191 points over their last three contests.

Excelsior Classical Academy proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 38) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Triangle Math & Science 57-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Flying Lions have posted since January 31st.

Meanwhile, Emerson Waldorf gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They breezed past Bradford Academy to the tune of 53-10. The Gnomes haven't had any issues with the Archers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Excelsior Classical Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Emerson Waldorf, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Everything went Excelsior Classical Academy's way against Emerson Waldorf when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as Excelsior Classical Academy made off with a 71-51 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Flying Lions since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
