Football Recap: Mccook Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact McCook can now relate to. They lost 35-12 to the Seward Bluejays on Friday. The game was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Bison struggled afterwards.

When it comes to explaining why McCook lost, don't look at Tristan Campbell. Despite the final result, he rushed for 174 yards and a pair of scores. Campbell has become a key player for the Bison: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

McCook didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Oliver Corbett, Ty Junker, and Miles Pollmann picked up one apiece.

McCook's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3. As for Seward, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

McCook does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Seward, they will face off against Waverly at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Bluejays 13.8, the Vikings 14.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
