Basketball Recap: Memorial Red Devils vs. Springfield Tigers
Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Springfield Tigers 51-24. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-17 back in December of 2024.
Memorial lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Meilianys Colon Rodriguez, who posted four points and six boards.
Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Springfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.
Memorial didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-19 defeat against Mineral Ridge on the 6th. As for Springfield, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Brookfield at 7:00 p.m. on February 15th.
