Baseball Game Preview: Scurry-Rosser Wildcats vs. Grandview Zebras

The Scurry-Rosser Wildcats will square off against the Grandview Zebras at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Scurry-Rosser has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Friday, Scurry-Rosser didn't have quite enough to beat Grandview and fell 2-1.

For Grandview's part, Drew Milner tossed a big game, not allowing a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out 12 over 6.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Milner a new career-low in hits (zero).

At the plate, Grandview's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brady Slinkard, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Nash Delong also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Grandview and bumps their season record up to 4-10-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Scurry-Rosser, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
