Baseball Game Preview: Baldwyn Bearcats vs. Myrtle Hawks

For the second straight game, Baldwyn will face off against Myrtle. The Bearcats will face off against the Hawks on Friday.

Baldwyn heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Monday. They fell 12-8 to Myrtle. The Bearcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Myrtle's part, they got a great performance from JJ Hall as he struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

At the plate, Drew Stanton was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Ray Moody was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Myrtle is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Baldwyn, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-11-1.
