Football Game Preview: Mt. Zion Eagles vs. Bowdon Red Devils + How To Watch

The Mt. Zion Eagles will head out to face off against the Bowdon Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Friday, Mt. Zion made easy work of Trion and carried off a 41-17 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Bowdon took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-13 victory over Manchester. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Red Devils' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 339th).

Bowdon's win came from a few key players Mt. Zion will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Joshua Hopkins, who threw for 214 yards and three TDs while completing 81% of his passes. Connor Daniel was another key player, gaining 124 total yards and two touchdowns.

Bowdon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Daniel and Mykah Patterson.

Bowdon's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Mt. Zion, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Mt. Zion was dealt a bruising 49-0 loss at the hands of Bowdon when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Eagles, Charles Maxell iii (who threw for 253 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 66 yards and one score) won't be suiting up this time.
