Softball Recap: Adairsville Tigers vs. Cass Colonels
After flying high against Chattooga last Monday, Adairsville came back down to earth. The Adairsville Tigers fell just short of the Cass Colonels by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Colonels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.
Ansley Powell was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Alivia Joslin, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Even though they lost, Adairsville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in three consecutive games.
Adairsville's loss dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Cass, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.
As of now, neither Adairsville nor Cass have any future games scheduled.
