Basketball Game Preview: Youngker Roughriders vs. Buckeye Hawks

Youngker hasn't had much luck against Buckeye recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Youngker Roughriders will head out on the road to face off against the Buckeye Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Youngker knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Buckeye likes a good challenge.

Having struggled with eight losses in a row, Youngker turned things around against Fairfax on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 55-36 victory over the Stampede.

Meanwhile, Buckeye was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were dealt a 91-31 loss at the hands of Verrado. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Vipers are ranked 110th).

Youngker's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10. As for Buckeye, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.

Youngker might still be hurting after the 85-59 loss they got from Buckeye in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Youngker avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
