Volleyball Game Preview: Norton Panthers vs. Northwest Indians

The Norton Panthers will take on the Northwest Indians in a tournament on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Norton had won seven straight home games and Haley Sanderson did her part to make it eight on Thursday. The Panthers put the hurt on Conneaut with a sharp 3-0 win thanks in part to Sanderson, who had 11 digs and one assist. She has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Norton was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-11, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Northwest got the win against Brookside on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.

Norton's victory bumped their record up to 21-3. As for Northwest, their win bumped their record up to 9-13.

Everything went Norton's way against Northwest when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as Norton made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
