Baseball Recap: Dakota Ridge Comes Up Short

Dakota Ridge came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-2 to the Chatfield Chargers. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Jo Jo Calderon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Dakota Ridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Larmore, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI. That hit marked the first that Larmore got this season.

Dakota Ridge's record now sits at 1-8. As for Chatfield, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-4.

Coming up, Dakota Ridge will venture away from home to take on Green Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Rams have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Chatfield, they will be playing at home against Monarch at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chargers are facing the Coyotes at the right time seeing as the Coyotes are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
