            Softball Recap: Muncie Central Bearcats vs. Wes-Del Warriors        
        
		
        
        
            Muncie Central had lost 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but  on Monday they dropped their record down to 0-9 to make it 12. They lost  17-0 to the Wes-Del Warriors. The Bearcats were not able to make up for their  loss to the Warriors from their previous meeting  back in April of 2024.
As for Wes-Del, the  win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-3. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games.
For Wes-Del's part,  Devyn Jaycox was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Jaycox has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI. That's the most  stolen bases  she has posted since back in April of 2024.
 In other batting news,  Brooklynn Eden was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and two  RBI. She also  hit a  double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Kenzie Anderson, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with one  triple, one  stolen base,  and one  run.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Muncie Central will face off against Union City at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Wes-Del, they will square off against Eastern Hancock at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Royals have averaged an impressive 7.3  runs per game this season.
