Baseball Preview: East Webster Wolverines vs. Mooreville Troopers
The East Webster Wolverines will head out on the road to challenge the Mooreville Troopers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as East Webster comes in on eight and Mooreville on seven.
On Saturday, East Webster sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Neshoba Central.
Briceton Johnson was incredible, going 3-for-3 with a triple, a stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in the last four games he's played. Stetson Perkins was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Mooreville sidestepped North Pontotoc for a 2-1 win.
East Webster has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Mooreville, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4.
East Webster skirted past Mooreville 2-1 when the teams last played back in February of 2017.
