Basketball Game Preview: Indian Valley Braves vs. Tuscarawas Valley Trojans

Indian Valley is 0-10 against Tuscarawas Valley since January of 2020 but things could change on Saturday. The Indian Valley Braves will face off against the Tuscarawas Valley Trojans at 2:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Indian Valley will bounce into Saturday's game after beating River View, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Indian Valley came out on top against River View by a score of 49-42 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Tuscarawas Valley waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took their match with ease, bagging a 48-10 win over the Pirates. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Pirates are ranked 719th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tuscarawas Valley's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.0 points per game. As for Indian Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Indian Valley was taken down by Tuscarawas Valley 62-20 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Tuscarawas Valley's Leah Bourquin, who went 8 of 15 en route to 18 points and four steals.
