Softball Recap: Chaparral Wins Going Away Against Horizon

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Campo Verde, Chaparral was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Horizon Huskies as they made off with a 6-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Firebirds in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won six in a row.

The team relied heavily on Bria Belden, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaelyn Moffitt, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Chaparral lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more home runs.

Chaparral's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 12-15. As for Horizon, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

Chaparral will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Huskies: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
