Jordan is a perfect 10-0 against Hillside since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Falcons will square off against the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. Jordan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.5 runs per game this season.
Jordan was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Northern Durham on Tuesday. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 16-7 margin over the Knights. Considering the Falcons have won 11 contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Kylie Specht, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jacqueline (JJ) Thornburg, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Jordan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive matchups.
Chapel Hill hit Hillside with a 12-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hornets came up short against the Tigers, falling 15-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Hornets in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.
Hillside saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Foster, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
Jordan pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.4 runs over those games. As for Hillside, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
Hillside's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Jordan has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11 hits per game. It's a different story for Hillside, though, as they've been averaging 9.1 hits. Given Jordan's sizable advantage in that area, the Hornets will need to find a way to close that gap.
Jordan took their victory against Hillside in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 17-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
