Volleyball Recap: Fort Zumwalt North Comes Up Short

Fort Zumwalt North was the 3-2 winner over Troy-Buchanan when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell 3-1 to the Trojans on Tuesday. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Trojans 25-20 in the first set.

Fort Zumwalt North started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-22, 25-11, 25-22.

Karis Hearne paced Fort Zumwalt North's offense, picking up 13 kills. Hearne got some help from Lily Hahn and her 19 assists. Finally, Caylee William kept Fort Zumwalt North's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Fort Zumwalt North's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Troy-Buchanan, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Fort Zumwalt North will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Timberland at 5:00 p.m. As for Troy-Buchanan, they will welcome Howell at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
