Baseball Recap: Watertown Tigers vs. Heritage Mountaineers
Watertown extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 20-6. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Heritage Mountaineers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mountaineers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-2 on Wednesday.
As for Heritage, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games.
For Heritage's part, not much got past Gaven French, who gave up just five hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Watertown off the board. French has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Heritage saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Littleton, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
