There's no place like home for St. Pius X, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They skirted past the Albuquerque Academy Chargers 3-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Sartans as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Hunter Jiron tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over 5.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Diego Trujillo was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jax Mulville, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

St. Pius X's record now sits at 4-7. As for Albuquerque Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

St. Pius X wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-4 win against Manzano on the 22nd. As for Albuquerque Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 19-5 victory against Atrisco Heritage Academy on the 22nd.
