Elkins hadn't done well against Robert C. Byrd recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Eagles on April 9th, they had to take a 9-0 loss.

Andrew Hinzman made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Dyer Barger was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Trevor Hogue was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Elkins' record now sits at 5-16. As for Robert C. Byrd, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.
